Professionals to Croon For Critters March 29, 2012

 

Birmingham professionals will sing on behalf of homeless animals at the 5^th annual Croonin’ For Critters, Thursday March 29^th, at WorkPlay. Happy hour begins at 6:00 p.m. with the show starting at 7:00 p.m. Cover charge is $20.

 

Proceeds will benefit the 33rd annual Do Dah Day, a fundraiser in support of homeless animals, set for May 19^th, 2012, in Caldwell and Rhodes Parks.

 

Croonin’ For Critters borrows the American Idol format. Contestants will perform a song accompanied by a live band. Performance critiques will be delivered by a panel of celebrity judges…Janice Rogers and Jeh Jeh Pruitt of FOX6, with local musicians Ona Watson and Rick Carter.

 

The audience will vote for their favorite singers through $1 donations. Audience members can vote for their favorite singer or singers as many times as they wish, at least until their money runs out.  The top vote getter will be named Birmingham’s Critter Idol. A separate award will go to the most talented singer in the competition.
